Summary

Trying to install Storybook to my react project results to an error. Here's the debug log for reference:

This error happens because the CLI detects your project as type react_project, but there isn't a matching generator for that type—only for react and related variants. This is a mismatch in the current Storybook 10.x CLI logic and is not addressed by a dedicated generator for react_project details.

To work around this, you can set up Storybook manually for your React project:

1. Install the framework
   For most React projects, use Vite (faster, modern) unless you need specific Webpack features:

   npm install --save-dev @storybook/react-vite

   Or, for Webpack:

   npm install --save-dev @storybook/react-webpack5

2. Create the Storybook config
   In your project root, create a .storybook directory with a main.js (or main.ts) file:
