⚙️ Configuring Clockwise

Jonathas Barbosa edited this page Jun 23, 2025 · 1 revision

Once you’ve flashed the firmware and your Clockwise is running, it’s time to configure it!

Clockwise includes a built-in Settings Page (web-based) where you can easily adjust key options such as WiFi, timezone, display brightness, and more — no coding required.

How to Access the Settings Page

  • After flashing, Clockwise will guide you to the Settings page automatically. Use the button VISIT DEVICE after during the flashing process.
  • Or, if your device is already connected to WiFi:
    • Visit http://clockwise.local/ from a device on the same network
    • Or use the IP address shown on in the Serial console of your clock

Available Settings

Timezone & NTP Server

  • Timezone — use a standard format such as:
    • America/New_York
    • Europe/Paris
    • Asia/Dubai
  • NTP Server — set your preferred time server (default: time.google.com)

Display Brightness

  • Manual brightness control (0-100%)
  • Automatic Brightness:
If you connect an LDR (Light Dependent Resistor), Clockwise can adjust brightness automatically based on ambient light.
    👉 Guide: Connecting an LDR
    • LDR Pin: the ESP32 GPIO pin where the LDR is connected to. The default is 35. There is a link there where you can read the current value of LDR and test if it's working.

Display Rotation

  • Rotate the display by 0°, 90°, 180°, 270°
  • Useful for cable management or wall-mounting adjustments

Clockface Selection

  • If you are using Canvas clockface, there are two more parameters that can be seen here.

RGB Order Fix (Swap Blue/Green pins)

  • Some LED panels may show swapped colors
  • You can adjust the order of RGB pins here if needed

POSIX Timezone String (Advanced)

  • For more precise timezone behavior or offline use. Consider this option in case you are having problems with NTP server or wrong time.
  • Example string: EST5EDT,M3.2.0/2,M11.1.0/2
